 India Project Updates
To date FRANK has funded an incredible 58 clean water projects in India, providing access to water for more than 400,000 people. Amongst the villages that have recently had a clean water project installed is Ramagiri. Located in Anantapur in the state of Andhra Pradesh in South East India, the village has a population of 3600 and our partner organisation in India, Naandi, has reported that the area is currently drought stricken and very poor, with Below Poverty Line (BPL) percentages of at least 80%.
For a new project, the levels of clean water usage in Ramagiri are very good. This is because the villagers are well informed about the dangers of drinking contaminated water, and this is all down to the clean water education programmes run by Naandi.
The FRANK Water Team Are Taking a Trip
Toni and Harmeet of FRANK Water Projects will be visiting India in November to find out how some of our FRANK Water Projects are helping local villagers. We will be visiting villages and hope to gather stories of how the funds being raised are directly helping families.  Naandi Visit FRANK Water in Bristol
Our partner NGO in India, Naandi, visited the UK during the summer. It was a great opportunity for them to see the UK side of operations and meet some of FRANK Water’s funders. Both FRANK Water and Naandi felt the visit gave greater insight into how each organisation works.
It wasn’t all work however, the Naandi team did have an opportunity to see some of the tourist attractions that the UK has to offer, and even better it was glorious sunshine for most of their visit!

Will Your Company Make a Difference?
In 2009, HBOS staff managed to raise £10,000 to fund an entire project for Neluttla village in Andhra Pradesh, which has given over 7000 villagers access to clean water. We are looking for more companies, schools or groups that can fund their own village project.  Top Fundraisers
The lengths (and heights) people go to in their fundraising efforts for FRANK Water always impress us, but in particular we would like to thank Lucas Vets and all teams taking part in the Rickshaw Run for coming up with a variety of ingenious ways of raising funds.
The team at Lucas Vets have taken on skydives and marathons in their efforts to raise £8,000 to fund a complete project, while Patrick Bishop, John Levick and Ben Montgomery devised a challenge involving cycling to every one of the 336 Barclays Cycle Hire docking stations in London within 24 hours. Not only did they achieve this but they also then went on to take part in the Rickshaw Run for FRANK Water too – 2 weeks of taking on India’s roads by autorickshaw alongside 64 other teams. Thanks to all for your efforts!
 Competition Winners
FRANK Water have been running a few competitions over the summer for the opportunity to win one free ticket to Greenbelt 2011 and 4 free tickets to WOMAD 2011 festivals. Thank you to all who entered and who visited our stands at both festivals to purchase a Refill bottle and utilise our ‘FreeFill’ facility. We are looking forward to increasing the number of festivals we bring the FreeFill initiative to for 2011 giving you an option of unlimited free filtered and chilled water onsite when you purchase a FRANK Water refillable bottle.
